Recent technical assessments revealed mechanical and operational bottlenecks within the Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) Process and Backwash Blower System.
Key challenges included:
Deficient Aeration:
Inadequate process air supply and unbalanced airflow distribution.
Environmental & Maintenance Constraints:
Excessive operational noise and elevated maintenance requirements that compromised BAF filtration efficiency.
To resolve these issues and enhance plant reliability, Maynilad contracted Hydropure Tech Philippines Corporation to deliver a complete Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing, and Commissioning (EPC/Design-Build) solution.

The scope encompasses:
Mechanical & Piping: Upgrading supply piping networks servicing the Biological Filtration Cells.
Electrical & Instrumentation: Replacing outdated controls, field instruments, and electrical hardware.
Civil Infrastructure: Constructing a larger blower housing structure engineered to optimize operations, maintainability and attenuate noise.
This upgrade aligns directly with Maynilad’s long-term commitment to operational excellence, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Optimized Aeration Efficiency: Balances airflow distribution while curbing overall energy consumption.
Enhanced System Reliability: Eliminates mechanical constraints and simplifies routine maintenance procedures.
Guaranteed Water Quality: Secures continuous compliance with national drinking water regulations, safeguarding a clean, reliable water supply for the surrounding communities.
